Local Companies We Love:

  • The Painters Office

    A Painting Company

Over 30 years of experience in housepainting, software design for vendor/customer tracking

    Here's Why We Love Them:

Family business, high quality work, experience and dedication. People good enough to call family!

  • Better Acupuncture

    Better Acupuncture

    Brett Lewis, LAc, MS Acupuncture

    Here's Why We Love Them:

Best acupuncture treatment I've ever received. Brett works on emotional and spiritual healing levels as well as in the physical realm.

  • Mighty O Donuts

    Mighty-O Donuts

    Here's Why We Love Them:

Some of the best good-for-you treats in Seattle! The Mighty-O family shares my belief in food as a healing force. Find them in Tangletown or in your local PCC grocery store. Of all the seasonal favorites, the apple-pie doughnut is my fave!

  • Luau Polynesian Lounge Restaurant

    Luau Polynesian Lounge Restaurant

    Here's Why We Love Them:

Tony Boitano and his gang make some INCREDIBLY delicious Hawai'ian food, from the healthy to the not-so, but all well worth the visit to Tangletown. Come in to The Luau and find a little island life on a dreary Seattle afternoon or celebrate summer with dinner on the outdoor deck.

  • Perche No Pasta Restaurant

Perche No Pasta and Vino Restaurant

    Here's Why We Love Them:

Definitely the best food I've ever had anywhere. Chef David and hostess Lily Kong (and their sons) will treat you like family, make sure you're completely satisfied, and David won't stop cooking until you ask him to. The menu items are all great, but sometimes I'll just go in and ask them to bring me whatever David thinks I should have and he's never been wrong.

Causes We Support:

  • Humanity For Children

    Humanity For Children

A local non-profit agency that works to build pediatric clinics and offer educational scholarships to children in East African countriesl, including Stone Turtle Health's personal project, the David McLeod Memorial Clinic.

    Here's Why We Love Them:

Dr. Katie worked with Humanity for Children to raise funds for the David McLeod Memorial Clinic, a maternity clinic that will become part of a regional pediatric center in Kenya, opening in 2010. What's not to love about providing healthcare and educational opportunities to children, helping them to realize their full potential.

  • Alternative Healthcare Access Campaign

    Alternative Healthcare Access Campaign

Access to quality healthcare is a right, not a privilege, and it should not be denied or limited because of economic status. Holistic healthcare practices such as acupuncture & oriental medicine, naturopathy, massage therapy, clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, midwifery, and homeopathy are important options in modern healthcare and should be available to all. Homeless and low-income people have the right to participate in the creation of public policies and programs that affect their access to healthcare.

    Here's Why We Love Them:

Providing healthcare to everyone is what we're all about!

  • Seattle Chapter American Red Cross

    Seattle Chapter American Red Cross

Providing local and national disaster relief for communities dealing with natural disasters, fires, etc.

    Here's Why We Love Them:

Dr. Katie is a member of the Seattle chapter and has had the life-changing experience of working with the ARC in Louisiana during Hurricanes Gustav and Ike as well as working locally, providing shelter to people displaced by the Western Washington floods. A truly great organization that will show you the power of volunteerism and how everyone can make a difference in the lives of others.
